What is the AUP Generator Tool?

This is a template form to assist schools in the creation of an Acceptable Use Policy. Users will be guided through 12 steps, once complete users can generate a digital copy of their AUP Document.

Using the AUP Generator Tool

• Each step within the AUP Generator Tool includes sample policy statements that relate to use of the Internet and digital technologies.

• Users should include/edit/remove these policy statements to customise the AUP
document to reflect their school’s circumstances and requirements.

• Users can also include extra policy statements if required.

• Please note to begin you will be required to input the following information: school details including name, website and contact details. This information will be displayed throughout your final policy document.

To generate your AUP document users must complete the following 12 steps in the tool

  • Step 1

    General Approach

    This section of the AUP states the overall principles underpinning the policy and details the scope of the policy in your school.
  • Step 2:

    Content Filtering

    Choose the level of content filtering being implemented by the Schools Broadband team for the school.
  • Step 3:

    Web Browsing and Downloading

    Choose the statement(s) that apply to your school in relation to internet browsing, downloading and file sharing.
  • Step 4:

    Email

    Choose the relevant statement(s) regarding the use of personal email accounts.
  • Step 5:

    Social Media

    Choose the statement(s) that apply to your school in relation to safe and responsible use of social media use.
  • Step 6:

    Personal Devices

    Choose the relevant statement(s) regarding the use of personal devices in school.
  • Step 7:

    Digital Learning Platforms

    Choose the relevant statement(s) in relation to the school Digital Learning Platform.
  • Step 8:

    Images and Videos

    Choose the relevant statement(s) regarding the publishing and sharing of digital images and video.
  • Step 9:

    Inappropriate Activities

    Choose the relevant statement(s) in relation to inappropriate online activities.
  • Step 10:

    School Website

    Choose the relevant statement(s) regarding the guidelines around content published on the school website.
  • Step 11:

    Cyberbullying

    Choose the relevant statement(s) regarding the school approach to cyberbullying.
  • Step 12:

    Permission Form
